The Arunachal Pradesh off-road rally concluded with a thrilling finale at the Bizari Mayhem stage. The final day presented competitors with exceptionally challenging terrain, captivating spectators as the event reached its climax.
Ujjal Namsum initiated the action at the notorious swamp, employing a tractor and JCB for a dramatic winch through the thick mud. This remarkable feat set the tone for the intense competition that ensued. Vivek Gujral also navigated the swamp, further intensifying the race’s excitement. The swamp and a trench along Bizari’s state road presented significant obstacles for all participants.
Despite a mechanical issue that prevented him from completing the final stage, Chetan Chengpa’s substantial prior lead secured him the title of King of Offroading in Arunachal Pradesh 2024. His consistent performance over the previous two days earned him this prestigious recognition.
Aditya Mein of Team MOCCA delivered a surprise third-place finish, recovering from a breakdown on the second day. His resilience and strategic approach proved successful, earning him a place on the podium.
Ujjal Namsum and Tseng Tsing Mein shared the Best Sportsman Spirit Award, recognized for their collaborative efforts and support of fellow racers, embodying the true spirit of the sport.
In the stock category, Nabam Katung staged a remarkable comeback, overtaking Jaong Mirip Singpho for second place, while Atong Tithak of Jairampur secured third. Katung’s skill and determination were evident as he maneuvered through the demanding course.
Nang Suhana received the Best Women Category Award, celebrating her exceptional performance and contribution to the sport.
The awards ceremony was attended by Kento Jini, Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, along with other dignitaries, including renowned rally driver Hari Singh. Their presence underscored the event’s success and the increasing prominence of off-roading in Arunachal Pradesh.
