The 5th Abo Tani State Level Football Championship-2024 commenced today at Chimpu Ground, Itanagar, with much fanfare. The event was inaugurated by Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) Mayor Tamme Phassang, who emphasized the importance of sports in shaping the future of the youth.
Mayor Phassang urged young people to avoid harmful habits like drug abuse and instead focus on sports. He highlighted the transformative power of sports in building a healthy and productive lifestyle.
The Mayor also praised the Arunachal Pradesh government for its efforts in promoting sports as a viable career option for the state’s youth. He acknowledged the government’s initiatives in providing opportunities for young athletes to excel in their respective fields.
Special recognition was given to Corporator Shri Bamang Taji, the Organizing Chairman of the tournament, for his dedication to promoting sports in the region. Mayor Phassang commended Taji’s efforts in organizing the championship and motivating young athletes to pursue their dreams.
Mayor Phassang encouraged the participants to give their best and highlighted the role of sports in fostering unity, discipline, and a brighter future for Arunachal Pradesh.
